I am writing this the day after my DON day because I will be honest, I was sick and wiped out by the end of the day. I prepped like usual the night before with my psyllium husk (mixed in peanut butter) and a big glass of water. I decided I would go down 0.1mg/kg because after reviewing some information and getting some advice I decided that DON is working even without side effects. It’s just that there is no definitive answer on how much to take to restrict glutamine from the cancer cells, so I am overshooting out of precaution. But until someone wants to donate hundreds of millions to Thomas Seyfried and or more random people like me start playing around with things, we won’t know the ideal dose of DON. On the bright side, all the details I keep recorded will be given to research institutes so they can collate my and anyone else data on this protocol.
So back to yesterday’s dose. I took fibre the night before and weighed out my DON on my pharmaceutical scale. It weighs stuff down to a very very small amount. The dose before when I was a tad sick I had taken 1.3mg/kg, so I decided to step back a wee bit. Yesterday I took 1.2mg/kg but I had lost a bit more weight so the total dose ended up being 78mg. I love losing weight because my DON gets cheaper. When I was about 15 minutes away from HBOT I took a licorice root tablet, then when I got to HBOT I took my blood glucose and ketones and my DON. I felt fine until an hour and a half into it, then my mouth started to water, I got nauseous, and then I started to gag and puke up small amounts of whatever was in my stomach which was just a bit of tea from hours earlier. This went on for about 5 minutes if that, then I was fine. Then 30 minutes from then it happened again, but this time I threw up foam for about 5 minutes. Not a lot, and not violent, just a gag-type thing I couldn’t stop from happening and it only lasted 5 minutes. And then; I am not kidding, it was exactly another 30 minutes later it happened again. It was like clockwork. Every 30 minutes on the dot. So I decided to come out of the HBOT tank at 2.5 hours. The rest of the afternoon, and evening I felt yukky. I didn’t get sick again but I was nauseous and I didn’t sleep well.
So here I am again trying to decide what dose to take next. I’m not sure if I am just reaching a point where my tolerance is low or my immune system is run down or I messed up my dose, but I am surprised that the 1.2 was a bit worse than the 1.3. My next dose is this Saturday and I think I might go back down to 1.1mg/kg. That will be my last dose in protocol 1, and then I have 14 days off to let my body rebuild its immune system.
I’m following your journey!
Yay, thank you!
First, love to you. Second, my thoughts about your side effects: it’s possible they are cumulative because the poison/medicine is slowly building up in your system with each dose. This is also true for chemo and often oncologists will reduce dosages to help with serious (grade 3) side effects that are compounding. The side effects of chemo can also be significantly delayed and only appear months later. Personally, I would dial back even further than what you’re considering. Try to approach it as a marathon, not a sprint. Xo
I just found the comments now! I so wish I had sooner because I think you are right! So day, DON day 3, I did 1.1mg/kg and had “nausea,” but after going up to 1.3mg/kg and back down to 1.1, I had more foam gags. And 1.2 kicked my butt more than 1.3. I thought maybe there was just enough damage to the healthy cells that my tolerance was lower, and if that was true, then I couldn’t see how the “symptoms” at that point were a measure of success in terms of “efficacy against cancer” more than they were just a measure of illness. It is helpful to hear that Chemo is cumulative. What are your thoughts on my starting dose for Protocol 2 should be. I have 14 days off to heal, then round two.
