To prepare for my inaugural DON day which was September 24th, 2023, I ensured a thorough grasp of my glucose level management. Up until that point, I discovered that fasting worked wonders. As a result, I maintained a state of ketosis from mid-August, delving into its finer points.
On the evening of September 22, 2023, I savoured what would be my last meal before Day 1: a succulent 7 oz ribeye steak complemented with a touch of creole butter, a half-cup of crisp broccoli, and a perfectly ripe medium avocado. My drink of choice was sparkling soda water, infused with the zest of three lime wedges.
Transitioning to the eve of September 23, 2023, I consumed a tablespoon of organic ground psyllium husk seeds, washing it down with a refreshing cup of water.
As dawn broke on DON day, I set off to my designated HBOT location. Shortly upon arrival, I ingested some licorice root extract, and then patiently awaited its effects over the next twenty minutes. In that interim, I diligently monitored my blood glucose and ketone levels.
Having previously settled on an initial dose of 0.5 mg/kg of DON, and based on my weight, I measured out 33.5mg. With precision, I extracted a minuscule quantity of powder from its sachet before stepping into the HBOT chamber.
Within the confines of the chamber, I was adjusted to 3.0 ATA, immersing myself in the experience for a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
The moment I emerged, my hunger pangs guided me straight to a nearby restaurant, where I indulged in a satisfying meal.
Reflecting upon that day, it was remarkably smooth. While I half-expected potential side effects to surface by evening, none appeared. This left me pondering my next move: whether to escalate to a 0.7mg/kg dose or take the bold leap directly to 1.0mg/kg.
