Large Rant #3 – Are You Waiting For The Cure: Don’t read if you like it sugar-coated

Prefix: I’m hitting “send” on this post without overthinking it—it’s straight from the heart, more like a diary entry than anything else. It’s raw and disjointed. It was a single post at one point, but I have now broken it into many so *everyone* doesn’t kill me.

It’s not every day you have a patient using harm-reduction strategies to try to cure Cancer. Nor should they have to. Isn’t there something called “right to try”? Maybe that is American, but I bet it’s as useless as the special access program…which only gives you access to drugs that won’t cure you. Don’t forget that it doesn’t matter what the drug is; if you get it from a pharmaceutical company, it’s not a cure for terminal Cancer or almost terminal Cancer because ‘they” don’t have a cure. If you are on a medication dispensed from a pharmaceutical company, then you are simply delaying death. Understanding the reality of current medical treatments and the pace of drug development is essential. Most pharmaceutical treatments aim to manage symptoms and extend life rather than cure the underlying disease, which can mean added weeks, months, but never years.

If you are hoping that the “cure” will come along in your lifetime, then you are not alone. This is what most patients do. I would suggest that while you are waiting, you find out the average life expectancy of people with your type of Cancer. For me, it’s 5 years, not including lead time bias. Then, look up the average length of time it takes a drug to get approval (10-15 years in the US, Canada and the UK). Then go see if any of the miracle drugs are in any phase of a clinical trial that is testing out a fucking cure. Guess what I have done the work for you. There isn’t one in a phase 3, phase 2 or phase 1 clinical trial. So, if you are waiting for a cure from your Oncologist, you are holding your breath.

I’m sorry to be so blunt about it, and if you want to live, you better get a second opinion from someone other than a doctor providing mainstream medical care. I would recommend looking up Thomas Seyfried’s papers because he has repeatedly and consistently been killing cancer cells. Unfortunately, you don’t get to take a pill and watch your Cancer melt away. You have to work your ass off like your life depends on it. And you have to search your sole to decide if you want to live. People think that is an obvious yes, but I can tell you it most certainly is not! I did my sole searching, and honestly, I will spare you and give you just a small sample of how it went:

“Fuck, if I die in less than ten years, my kids get the life insurance, and they are set up for life. Plus, I wouldn’t have to finish the house. But they lose their mom. But at least they have their dad and a great extended family. My kids are so lucky that so many people love them. I guess that is by extension. It would kill my mom. But the kids would be set up for life. And they got a lot of good years out of me, but they lost their mom, and maybe that will be damaging. I don’t know. Ok, so that is if I die if I live, then I probably have had to sell everything I own to make it happen. I will be broke, and obviously, I have outlived my term life insurance, so there is no money. And I will be broke ass. I will also be just another smuck who cured Cancer that everyone dismisses. I will have to go back to work because I don’t have Cancer anymore, AND how else will I pay for rent? Then, I will work until I die because I sold my pension along with everything I own to stay alive so I can work. But wait, I am considering living so that I can work? No, I must live for kids.

Shit, I will have to go back to my old job because it has good extended medical, even though they bent me over in 2020 and have yet to apologize. Or, ok, let’s consider this death thing again – I can wait out my first line SOC (standard of care) doing nothing but what the medical system recommends. Then, when I decline, I can do the second line SOC and sit in a chemo chair, waiting for the cookie and juice box I get after and be hailed a hero and a fighter by the Canadian Cancer Society. Then, when I decline further, I can do the third line SOC….and on it goes until there is nothing else they can do for me. I think I would do MAID at that point. I guess I had better look into that. OMG, will I have to eat like this forever if I live?”

Once you have done your soul-searching and decide that letting someone let you die will not help you live and you want to live or die trying – I can help you!

Just email me. Lots of others have. Instead of SOC alone, we can combine SOC and Metabolic Therapy to prove that not only does it work in mice…it works in mice and humans. Humans and bananas share about 60% of their DNA. How bad can mice be? (big grin)
